Developmental Evaluations
A developmental evaluation provides information regarding a child’s motor skills, social communication, cognitive skills, adaptive skills, and social-emotional development. This type of evaluation is helpful for children who are exhibiting neurodevelopmental delays or differences, as well as children who are at risk for delays due to prematurity or significant medical conditions.
Autism Spectrum Evaluations
This evaluation assesses for a possible autism spectrum disorder and is appropriate for children and adolescents who exhibit difficulties with social development, communication/language, and/or behavioral difficulties. Families may choose between a comprehensive evaluation or diagnostic service. The latter is a brief evaluation focused on assessing a child's intellectual (IQ) and social functioning.
Focused Evaluations
A more focused neuropsychological evaluation, including brief assessment and consultation necessary for intervention and treatment planning, is available upon request if deemed clinically appropriate.
Neuropsychological Evaluations
A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation provides detailed information about your child’s cognitive, psychological, behavioral, and academic functioning. Specific cognitive domains assessed include intelligence, visual and verbal learning/memory, attention and executive functioning, language, fine motor, and visual motor/visual spatial abilities. Information gathered about your child’s social-emotional and behavioral functioning is then integrated into what is discovered about their cognitive and academic abilities, providing a complete understanding about why your child may be exhibiting challenges in the home, school, or social setting.
Psychoeducational Evaluations
Psychoeducational evaluations are designed to examine for the presence of a learning disability. These brief evaluations focus on assessing a child’s intellectual (IQ) and academic skills and offer some information regarding learning/memory, attention, and/or social-emotional factors.
